Moments after an immigrant spoke out about her fears of deportation, she was detained by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
Daniela Vargas, 22, was detained by ICE agents Wednesday morning, shortly after speaking at a news conference in downtown Jackson, according to her attorney, Abby Peterson.Vargas was just 7 years old when she entered the United States, and thus qualifies for DACA, but has to reapply every two years. Her current reapplication is "pending". She is reportedly classified as a "visa overstay", which if correct would make her an illegal alien, although TC-L never uses that term. Read the full story.
