Today I made a brief visit to Mount Jackson, Virginia along its Main Street, which is also U.S. Route 11. Next to the street is this Veterans Memorial, seen from its north side.
Behind the sign is a cemetery, of which these are some tombstones.
The back of the Veterans Memorial, which faces south, is seen here. Some buildings along Main Street are in the background.
The plaque explains the symbolism incorporated into the memorial.
