Today I ventured westward from my undisclosed location and visited two lighthouses on the shores of Lake Erie. The first one was the Marblehead Lighthouse in the village of Marblehead. The weather was cloudy and occasionally rainy, and much less warn than during the last few days, but did not prevent me from exploring and taking pictures. Here's the lighthouse, and some visitors besides myself.
The lighthouse and surrounding area are a state park, which also includes a museum and gift shop, seen here.
Here's the lighthouse from a different angle.
A short walk from the lighthouse is this reconstruction of a life saving station, which today is a museum.
The walkways around the lighthouse and the life saving station replica are made of bricks, many of which have been inscribed with people's names.

The other lighthouse I visited was the Port Clinton Lighthouse in the city of Port Clinton, about 12 miles west of Marblehead. This one stands on a pile of rock slabs.
Like the one in Marblehead, this lighthouse has a museum and gift shop. I believe that it was once the light keeper's house. The body of water seen below and around it is not part of Lake Erie, but a separate pond.
Near the lighthouse are statues of a light keeper and his dog.
I took another shot of the lighthouse, from a different angle. The reddish object on one of the rocks is a sandal.
I also decided to take another shot of the two statues. From behind the light keeper, you get a better view of the dog's posture.
After I visited the two lighthouses, I wanted to keep on exploring. The results of my further travels will be posted soon.
