This afternoon, I took a stroll around Williamsburg, which was the capital of the British colony of Virginia before it and 12 others decided to separate themselves from the British Empire. After parking at the visitor center, I walked southward into the historical area. The first place where I stopped and took a pic was the governor's palace. This is the front, behind a gate.
Here's another part of the palace.
Besides walking, there's another way to get around Williamsburg. The only downside is that it leaves its own distinctive type of exhaust.
This is the colonial-era courthouse.
A Revolutionary War-era reenactor prepared to fire his musket, as he stood among various cannons.
The colonial magazine was closed, apparently for some maintenance.
Near the magazine was this pump house and some other small structures.
If "she's a brick house", she might be this tavern.
You might be able to stay in one of its 16 guest rooms, but according to some people, it's haunted. Stay tuned for part 2.
