Liz Truss Resigns, And Other Thursday Stories

U.K. Prime Minister Liz Truss has announced her resignation, effective when her successor is chosen.  She will become the shortest-serving prime minister in British history.  She has informed King Charles of her intentions.  Among those possibly contending to succeed her are her recently resigned predecessor Boris Johnson.
