Return To New Bern

Today I went back to New Bern, North Carolina, which I first visited in January 2020.  As I did back then, I found a place to park the Bigfootmobile in Union Point Park and set out on foot from there.  The park still includes this set of metallic black bear statues.

Near the bear statues are some structures for playing the game bunghole, a.k.a. cornhole.  I don't remember if they were there six years ago.

Naturally, I had to again see Bearon de Graffenried, named after New Bern's founder.

A local dentist's office had its own bear statue.  The golden retriever on the left was walking his human.

The clock tower is part of New Bern's city hall.  I took a picture of it six years ago from a different angle.

Once again, I reached Hancock Street, which has its own railroad track.

This mama bear is standing on the front porch of the Cub House, which is a visitor center and a place to get relief.

Unlike the last time I was in New Bern, I wandered northward on Front Street and found this cannon near the city's Riverwalk.  Thus, I got to see some things that I didn't see six years ago.

This next monument is dedicated to businesswoman Susan Moffat-Thomas, who has been involved with the city.

These flagpoles and this statue were erected by the Sudan Shriners, who have a chapter in New Bern.

Before I left, I had to see this bear statue.  I think that it has the same stickers that it did in 2020.
