Bentonville Battlefield - Part 2

Besides the areas near the visitor center, Bentonville Battlefield has some other places worth exploring.  One of these is just a short distance to the east, and includes this statue of Confederate General Joseph Eggleston Johnston, who fought against Union General William Tecumseh Sherman.  Behind it are two monuments and a flagpole.

A short trail leads from the statue to a house and two monuments.  This one includes a metallic horse's head.

The other monument is to the 123rd Regiment from New York.

This house once belonged to Confederate solder Levi Creech.  It was originally located elsewhere.

I had to step back a take a shot showing where the Johnston statue and Creech house are situated relative to each other.

Finally, I went to the site of the Cole plantation, but nothing is there except for this 12-pound Napoleon cannon.  This type of gun was invented by Louis Napoleon, nephew of the French emperor.

Thus concludes today's excursion.  See all youz soon.
