A Few Things For The Start Of August

As the warm (but not excessively so) and sunny weather continues on a Tuesday which is the first day in August, here are a few things going on:

From National Review, a major pro-life group blasts Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) for not supporting a national abortion ban.  (The group appears to misunderstand the implications of Dobbs v. Jackson, which sends abortion back to the states.  Thus, both a ban on abortion and any attempt to codify the now-overturned case Roe v. Wade would be unconstitutional, for the same reason, even though they are opposite actions. Both would be federal interference in a state matter.)

From FrontpageMag, New York City tells illegal aliens asylum seekers "don't come here".

From The Washington Free Beacon, when First Son Hunter Biden's art patron ran up against federal campaign contribution limits, her underage children started contributing.

From The Federalist, evidence of corruption involving the Biden family and the Ukrainian company Burisma is overwhelming.

From American Thinker, black American voters are starting to avoid President Biden like a bad smell.

From NewsBusters, CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins expresses her support for the Pentagon's abortion travel policy while interviewing congresscritter Robert Aderholt (R-AL).

From TCW Defending Freedom, the woke bankers going after your carbon (dioxide) footprint.

From Gatestone Institute, the uninvited backbone of the movement against judicial reform in Israel.

From The Stream, why some people hate the move Sound of Freedom.

From The Daily Signal, a Ukrainian drone strikes Moscow, and Russia threatens to use nukes.

From The American Conservative, Barga, "the most Scottish town in Italy", turns American at night, including lots of American music.

From The Western Journal, former First Son Michael Reagan claims that he would have been "skewered" by Democrats if he had acted like the aforementioned Hunter Biden.

From BizPac Review, the aforementioned Governor DeSantis invites Vice President Harris to discuss his state's school curriculum, unless she's too busy "with the border".

From The Daily Wire, congresscritter Dan Goldman (D-NY) demands that his Republican colleagues stop investigating the Bidens.  (My response would be something like "OK, first your side stops investigating former President Trump".)

From the Daily Caller, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt (R) signs a bill defining "female" and "mother".

From the New York Post, a TikTok user is turned away at an airport because she looked "too hot" in her passport photo.

From Breitbart, Coutts Bank reverses its decision to close the accounts of U.K. politician Nigel Farage.

From Newsmax, the Hangzhou Zoo in Hangzhou, China insists that its Malaysian sun bears really are bears.

From All Arab News, Saudi Arabia plans to host peace talks for Ukraine this month, but Russia has so far not been invited.  (via Newsmax)

And from the South China Morning Post, "Barbieheimer" memes go over very poorly in the country that was attacked with Oppenheimer's invention.  (via the New York Post)
