Virginia Governor Changes Parties, Sort Of

During his time in medical school, current Virginia Governor Ralph Northam (D) had his own page in their yearbook, which included a picture which by today's standards is quite controversial.  From The Virginian-Pilot:
A photo from Gov. Ralph Northam’s medical school yearbook shows him and another person in racist costumes - one wearing blackface and one a Ku Klux Klan robe and hood, though it was not clear which person was the future governor.
While reporting on this story, CNN briefly gave him a change in his political affiliation.  Whether this was an honest mistake or a deliberate change is known only to the perpetrator.  Read the story at Red State or NewsBusters.

UPDATE:  Breitbart weighs in:
Listen, feel free to be angry at the establishment GOP’s failure to dig up Northam’s appallingly racist 1984 college yearbook photo.  Had that photo been found during the 2017 election, Republican Ed Gillespie would be Virginia’s governor today - no question.  So, yeah, the Republicans suck.  Like we didn’t already know that.
But where the hell were the media during the Virginia governor’s race?  [emphasis in original]
Good question.  A long time ago, I came to realize that the media bias is not shown by what it says, but mainly by what it leaves out.  Until recently, it did not say anything about this page in Northam's yearbook, which was published in 1984.  But in an alternative universe, in which GOP candidate Gillespie appears in such a picture, the media would jump on it like vultures on a carcass.

The picture raises some questions.  Which of the two men is Northam, who is the other, and where is he now?  Read the story at the Breitbart link above.
