Canadian actor Christopher Plummer, the oldest person to ever win an Oscar, has died at his home in Weston, Connecticut at age 91. He reportedly died peacefully, with his wife Elaine Taylor at his side.
Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to John Orme Plummer and the former Isabella Mary Abbott, who divorced shortly after his birth. He was their only child. During his childhood, he studied piano, but eventually switched to acting. He graduated from the High School of Montreal, but never attended college.
Plummer was married three times and had one child, a daughter named Amanda. He appeared in numerous movies and also on Broadway, and did some writing.

For me, Christopher Plummer will always be Captain Georg Von Trapp in The Sound Of Music. In this video, Plummer sings Edelweiss. In the finished movie, his voice was ghosted by singer Bill Lee.
