William Shatner, who portrayed Captain James Kirk of the starship Enterprise on the original Star Trek series, has gone into space, along with three other people in a capsule atop Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket. The 90-year-old Shatner and his fellow passengers Audrey Powers, Chris Boshuizen and Glen de Vries reached a maximum altitude of 351,000 feet (about 66.48 miles) on a flight that lasted about 10 minutes. The rocket and capsule touched down separately within short driving distance of their launch pad in western Texas. Shatner is now the oldest person to go into space.
