Before I return to listing more things going on, I'd like to present a few songs. First up, in honor of the U.K.'s new prime minister, is Boris The Spider by The Who, which I believe is the first one written by bassist John Entwistle that they recorded.
In 1990, country singer Patty Loveless released That Kind Of Girl, from her fourth album On Down The Line. I figure that the two kids in the video, one of whom is Loveless's "mini-me", are in their 30's by now.
Argent was known for their big hit Hold Your Head Up, but my favorite of theirs might be Keep On Rollin', which features piano solos by namesake keyboardist Ron Argent. I think that Argent also sings this one. Most of their lead vocals came from guitarist Russ Ballard, whose song Since You've Been Gone has been covered a zillion times. Bassist Jim Rodford and drummer Bob Henrit would later join the Kinks.
This next one would be played on my car's radio. I could tell that it was Nirvana, but I couldn't determine its title. Eventually, I tracked it down. This is All Apologies, which closes out their last album In Utero, and which features some nifty guitar work by Kurt Cobain. Krist Novoselic plays bass and Dave Grohl plays drums and sings harmony.
To finish, this is the official video for I Wanna Be Sedated by the Ramones. The group calmly sits around a table, with Joey singing the song, and Johnny (guitar), Dee Dee (bass) and Marky (drums) either eating cereal or reading magazines, while they are swarmed by a diverse cast of characters.
