This story is a day old, and thus did not make today's list, but I still had to report on it. A young lady in England who recently had a birthday told her friends that she wanted a cake decorated with a picture of singer Mariah Carey. Somehow, her request was misunderstood, which resulted in her getting a cake with a picture of Nobel Prize-winning physicist/chemist Marie Curie. Of course, due to my own Polish ancestry, I like to use her maiden name Marja Skłodowska. Whether the cake glowed in the dark or caused any radiation poisoning has not been reported.
